In high-power microwave antenna system, the radius of the inner wall of smooth gradient multimode feed is widely used, because it can simultaneously meet the high power capacity and good radiation characteristics.In this paper, based on the theory of pattern matching, the numerical analysis program are developed to achieve the objective of calculating the circular waveguide which Smooth wall and circular waveguide.at the same time, the software is encapsulated developed for calculating and analyzing multimode waveguide mode converter while the numerical analysis software is encapsulated by taking advantage of Matlab GUI tools. First of all, a X-band horn is calculated and analyzed by taking advantage of this calculation and analysis software, and the results are compared with the results of software HFSS simulation, the results of experimental test. The results showed that all three have good consistency and direct proof that the accuracy of the calculation and analysis software in this article. Secondly, following the usefulness of computational analysis software are proved, the process is designed which can achieve rapid automatic optimization based on the genetic algorithm. At the same time, a S-band horn is calculated and analyzed by taking advantage of this calculation and analysis software. The design goals of the S-band horn is set as follows :the center frequency equal to 2.8GHz; gain equal to 20 d B; the level of sidelobe is less than-35 d B; cross polarization is below-35 d B; power capacity greater than 500 MW.And the results are compared with the results of software HFSS simulation, the results of experimental test. The results showed that all three have good consistency and direct proof that the accuracy of the calculation and analysis software which can achieve rapid automatic optimization. Finally, we chose a high-capacity mode power converter TE11—HE11 which is used to design experiments, and its radiation pattern is tested accurately in a microwave chamber. By comparing the direction of the drawing, The purity of the mode of HE11 is know exactly. The results of the comparative analysis between the calculated results and test result show that they have a high degree of consistency.These three experimental results directly and fully proved that the analysis software and the optimization software both are effective. Both the platform which can analyze quickly and the platform which can achieve adaptive optimize can be widely used in the mode conversion aspect. It provides a great convenience for future work, and bring people more convenience in the analysis of high-power microwave feed.
