High power microwave in today's complex society plays a very important role.HPM are very important application in the high power microwave weapons, plasma heating and other kinds of scientific research and application, Among them, the directional transmission technology of high power, high power electromagnetic pulse generation techniques and strong relativity flow of electron beam all rely on the development of high power microwave technology. the high power microwave transmission structure is inseparable in the operation of high power system. This paper mainly research on two aspects including mode converter and transition device, the mode converter is switch one mode to another by adjusting the structure, on the other hand, the transition device completely transfer microwave mode from input port to the output port by changing the parameters of the structure. In this paper, we studied conversion system, which include TE01 taper, TE01-TM11 mode converter andTE02-TEO1 mode converter, TM11-HE11 mode converter. The taper and converter are designed and under test.This paper is mainly as follows:Expounds the mode conversion principle of curving circular waveguide and varying radius circular waveguide. On the basis of space passive maxwell's equations, telegraph equation and the coupling coefficient Cą[m'n'][mn] is deduced respectively.Based on the coupled wave theory, calculate the mode conversion which is work at 24.13GHz,and the radius is 16mm on MATLAB, and the transition of all kinds of structures are compared, and the parameters can be obtained finally. The above model verified through the CST simulation, the final result shows that the simulation is consistent with the results of numerical calculation procedure. At the same time processing physical picture of this kind of structure is given.Based on the coupled wave theory, calculate and optimized the mode conversion from TE02 to TE01 which is work at 24.13GHz,and the radius is varying on MATLAB.simulation results of HFSS prove that the design is correct. Also designed a bent structure mode conversion of TE01 - TM11 mode which is work at 35GHz, by comparing the type structure, sine curve structure is selected because of it's higher conversion efficiency and short structure. HFSS simulation results consistent with the results of numerical calculation procedure eventually. At the same time corrugated waveguide coupling coefficient and the eigenvalues of the mixed mode are studied. simulate and optimize results by HFSS are given. A TM11 to HE11 mode conversion which is work at 35GHz are designed and made.
