With the development of computer hardware and technology, people has more demanding on the scenarios simulation and the data accuracy, requiring more data integration and simulation in the form of a full three-dimensional real show. In military and civilian areas, the traditional two-dimensional maps and three-dimensional map can not meet people’s needs any more, so there will be the research and development of Digital Earth. The sky simulation is an important part of Digital Earth.This thesis is about the study on a digital simulation of the sky on the Earth, dividing into three parts.The first one is the study about modeling algorithm of sky, simulation technology and enhanced realism based on Digital Earth, the second is the realization of the cloud simulation, and the third is the improvements and construction for the flight simulation and flight corridor on the Digital Earth. By studying the key core technology and algorithms of dynamic sky simulation, I have made some improvements and original plan to apply to the Digital Earth.Here are three points of the main research work and innovation:(1) Through the analysis and research of various sky modeling algorithm, selecting the highest matching hemispherical sky modeling algorithms to build the body based on Digital Earth. On this basis, apply the texture transform, the combination of bulletin boards and light, light scattering technology and other technologies to enhance the realism of the sky and to achieve real-time dynamic simulation of the sky. Finally, the thesis improved algorithm to achieve the shy simulation at any point on earth.(2) The cloud is the most important scene in the sky, Based on the research of cloud rendering algorithm, I put forward the program which combine 2D and 3D cloud, 2D cloud to achieve dynamic flow, 3D cloud can be achieved the effect of throughing cloud, in guarantee of efficiency and simulation fidelity.(3) Based on the sky simulation, this thesis studies the algorithm of virtual air combat flight simulation and flight corridor construction, improves algorithm and implements in the Digital Earth. The aspect of flight simulation is using algorithms of physical and mechanical traction to achieve a higher degree of simulation. The construction of the flight corridor is applied the improved algorithm of Bezier curves. Bezier curve algorithm will expand from two-dimensional to three-dimensional space, and improved in order to achieve satisfactory results plotted on Digital Earth.In summary, this thesis mainly studies modeling and simulation of the sky, the sky realism enhancement technology, cloud simulation and rendering algorithms simulation technology research and flight simulation and flight corridors and other applications, and on this basis, improve and make innovation to achieve a dynamic real-time simulation sky on Digital Earth.
