With the development of Internet and smart phones, the corresponding application software is highly demanded. Mobile Internet segnates focus on the smart phone in order to allocating business strategy. Thousands of applications are changing human’s life in this information age.This thesis reports the investigation and design of a mobile navigation system, especially the positioning sub-system. The thesis includes requirement analysis, introduces the framework and structure of software, the function of positioning sub-system and the software development process on Android platform. This thesis proposes a Fast Position Algorithm, which achieves a better user performance and improved efficiency.The contributions of this thesis mainly contain the following three parts:the system analysis of navigation software, the analysis and design of the positioning sub-system, and the proposed Fast Position Algorithm. Along with these contributions, the thesis also describes the functions, structure, and network topology structure of the whole system. The implementation of the positioning sub-system not only birings the intuitional experience of software development on android platform, but also improves the fundamental theory of the positioning algorithm from the aspect of practice. With the background of mobile operators develop value added service energetically, the sub system is realized by server visits service platform support by operators.The performance of positioning sub system has substantial increase by the fast position algorithm. The positioning sub-system is comprised by two aspects:the client and the server. The client is responsible for of UI, management of data and network request. The server provides interfaces and data process of return. The positioning sub-system can be used to position oneself or others, plan the route of buses or cars.
