With the development of mobile technology, a mobile phone does not only have the basic function such as calling and sending message, it also can be used as a positioner. In our daily life, you will often have outing activities, will the modern metropolises always make you lost? Have you always felt anxious when you cannot figure out your location? At this time, if you have a mobile phone with position system, you can easily find the location you want. Additionally, you can authorize this function with your friends, thus you can get their location information easily, too.Using specific technology to get the location information of a mobile phone, and then make it be marked on an electronic map, and that is called the Mobile Position Technology. There are two kinds of Mobile Position Technology. One is GPS, while the other one was based on the basic stations of mobile network. A GPS mobile phone realized this positioning function by GPS module, while mobile network located one person by calculating the distance between the mobile phone and the basic station. This paper do depth analysis on position mobile phone based on GPS.Based on the industrial background and the current development situation, this paper firstly elaborates a deep analysis and study for the software architecture on the platform of MTK and MMI layer structure. And then it takes the MT6225baseband as example to study platform hardware architecture. After that this paper compares three kinds of mobile phone positioning techniques. During these techniques, GPS is of high positioning accuracy, high speed, and free to use, so that the design of the mobile positioning phone is based on GPS technology localization. This paper defines the overall structure of the GPS positioning mobile phone based on GPS chip, the baseband chip MT6225and the third party maps. And then it designs and implements some related functions about GPS positioning module combined with working experience when I engaged in the mobile phone software development work. GPS positioning module software design includes the application layer design, data driven layer design and mobile phone interaction with the server. The application layer lies mainly on the user interface design, such as the entrance of electronic map; The data driven layer design mainly means the baseband part attains data from the GPS chip, makes standard processing in accordance with the NMEA, and then sends them to the electronic map module. In addition, the mobile phone need to interact with the server through SMS or GPRS way. Finally, the paper uses the simulator to debug on the user interface, and to test GPS positioning module related functions on the basis of test cases, certainly with the test results analyzed.This design implants GPS positioning application in the middle-end and low-end mobile phones at a relatively low cost, which will help GPS positioning application become the general mobile phone standard configuration. At this extent, it is valueable and significant for the outing travel of people’s daily life.
