A Study On Expansion And Optimization Scheme Of Broadband Metropolitan Area Network

Broadband Metropolitan Area Network(MAN) is an IP service platform, considering its wide market foreground and great business value. More and more attention has been paid to value-added services relied on MAN.In this thesis, we first analyze the existing MAN’s structure, and find out the problems of current network from the aspects of business need for development and access for broadband. A reasonable and feasible solution for network optimization is developed according to the problems which have been discovered. Needs of the MAN service bearer are better met by presenting a clear business correspondence QoS level on the basis of the limited bandwidth, and then the network is more optimized. Finally good performance is achieved by exporting bandwidth expansion, adjusting network structure, optimizing network hierarchy and network routing methods. We realize promising network capacity, more complex function, wider access layer coverage which greatly improved network performance.Now the plan has been put into use in Shantou. All requested functions have been satisfied. The system is more flexible, universal and extensive than any other ways that have been used before. The system is more suitable for the development of new application and technique today.
