Switching power supply is like the heart of the human body, and it is the engine of the electrical equipment. Soft magnetic component is the key part of the switch power supply, and which serves as the magnetic energy transformation, transmission, storage, and other functions. The selection of magnetic materials and the differences of cores’ geometrical shape designing will change the parameters of the cores, and then have an important impact on the performance of the device.Based on the comprehensive analysis of the problems for switch power such as more terminal, big volume, big weight, high power loss, high heat dissipation, which provided prospective and directional information for this topic. At the same time, based on analysis of the feasibility and demand conditions of this project, the design and implementation for the magnetic core selection system of switching power supply were put forward.The main contents are as follows:1. By analyzing the structure and the working state of switch power supply, and on the basis of understanding the different demands of cores for different power supply design, guided by these demands, the features of the new magnetic material was designed and improved. From the main formula, doping, pre-sintering, crushing, sintering and other core technology set out to, the soft magnetic materials for high performance switching power supply was developed.2. The geometry design was improved according to different power assembly space design and the demand of the magnetic circuit design different power, which also combining the ferrite manufacturing technology of products. In order to satisfy the improvement of the miniaturization and high efficiency of the high frequency power supply, this paper also came up with the design method of the planar integrated magnetic parts to reduce the height and the volume of magnetic devices to improve the power density of the magnetic cores.3. The Steinmetz coefficient was calculated according to the power loss data of series materials and then calculated the core loss under different frequency and magnetic flux density according to Steinmetz formula, which lay the foundation for the loss calculation of the transformer design. Not only the effective parameters of the magnetic core but also the inductance coefficient AL value and effective permeability μe under different air gap length was calculated, according to the IEC standard.4. In order to simplify the calculation and query of the magnetic material electromagnetic properties data such as permeability, loss, Bs, geometry size and the effective parameters, when the engineers is designing the switching power supply. The development of soft magnetic ferrite core selection system was completed. This system provides effective technical support, helps engineers choosing cores and complete magnetic design work.
