In the 21 st century, along with the rapid development and wide use of computers and networks, and the growing size of schools, the management of academic affairs becomes extremely important. Networking not only provides convenience to staff members and students, but also improves the quality and efficiency of the administration of teaching affairs. It is of great practical implications for schools to make full use of the existing campus network resources to develop a management system for academic affairs that meets the requirements of the development of the school in the future, to further optimize and improve the methods and procedures of the management of teaching affairs to provide better services for teachers and students. This will also promote the informatization and digitalization of the campus.Equally important is the security of the Academic Management System, as it is an important subsystem of the Digital Campus. In this thesis, in response to the security hazards embedded in the academic management system, the author proposes that the widely used Role Based Access Control(RBAC) method be introduced into the system to achieve the aim of enhancing security control over visitors.Based on a detailed investigation of the work procedures and an analysis of the requirements of the management of the academic affairs of Fuyang Teachers College, this thesis introduces the traditional strategies used in access control and the standard RBAC model. Based on the comparison and analysis, the necessity for the application of RBAC in modern management system for academic affairs is demonstrated. In response to the features of and security needs of the management system for academic affairs, the author proposes that the widely used Role Based Access Control method be introduced into the system. In the meanwhile, the author proposes that the permissions of different roles be refined to control the range of the data they can access, so that the control method can better adapt to multi-level structures.this thesis introduces a security model of the management system of “user classification, role authorization, unified management”, and applied in the management system for academic affairs in Fuyang Teachers College. The main functions of the management system for academic affairs are achieved by adopting B/S architecture. The platform of the system includes such main functions as user authentication, access control, arranging courses, grade management, teacher management, student management, and courses selection.
