Energy is important material basis and support for national economic and social development, it is also the important restriction factor of sustainable economic and social development. With the rapid development of society, land energy becomes a growing problem, as the need for new oil and gas resources becomes more and more urgent. The ocean is rich in mineral resources and is receiving much more attention. Marine controlled source electromagnetic method (CSEM) is one of new methods of exploration of mineral substance such as oil and gas in the ocean. In recent years, this method has been put into use by many foreign oil and gas companies and brought excellent success. However, it’s still secretive about the CSEM equipments. The project of deep water controlled source electromagnetic exploration system is supported by the 863 program. Its aims are to develop a controlled source electromagnetic system, developing useful propagable application solution, and developing our national oil and gas exploration technology lever, as well as providing technical support for the realization of the deepwater oil and gas exploration in our country and marine homeland security strategy.The ocean-bottom electromagnetic receiver is one of the most important equipments of this project whose duty is to work offline in deep water and to collect data all by itself. Debugging of the ocean-bottom electromagnetic receivers and management of the data files are necessary. In this paper an application software is introduced to make it more convenient and efficient to debug the receivers and manage the files. Data management software of the ocean-bottom electromagnetic receivers consists of receivers debugging subsystem and data files management subsystem.Receivers debugging subsystem is developed for the configuration and debugging of the receives. The basic parameters could be set and real-time data of the receiver could be shown and analyzed by using of this subsystem. The software works as monitoring software during the debugging period of the receivers. Solutions of function realizing and cooperation problems among several working threads such as data receiving thread and analyzing thread will be discussed. Power spectral estimate function is developed by the combination of VC++ and MATLAB, and mapping function is realized by the combination of VC++ and the ProEssentials.Data file management subsystem is developed for the intergrated management of the receivers’data files. It consists of three modules. File basic management module contains functions such as classification and searching of files, checking and analyzing of data. Format conversion module is developed for format conversion between the receiver’s format and format of SEG-D. Network transmission module is designed to realize high-speed, safely transmission of large files, and a useful method of large file transferring is introduced.Data management software of the ocean-bottom electromagnetic receivers works stably during tests and application, which makes it easier to debug the receivers and manage data files.
