With the technology of the Radio Remote Unit module constantly updated, this device which is the core equipment of a mobile communication base station, has its transmit power increase rapidly. This brings a research and development direction of how to design a power supply system to match the RRU module. In recent years, with the progress of technology, especially the upgrading of power device, the more and more using of the new electromagnetic material, improvement of the power conversion technology, upgrade of power control method, and technology integration that related to power design, the communication power supply system become more reliability, stability. And the electromagnetic compatibility, eliminating harmonic are all improved, also we made a great progress in increasing the utilization factor of power, reduce the power loss, improve the dynamic performance of the system. In addition, due to the wide application of computer monitoring system in this communication power supply, which makes the intelligent level of the power supply continues to improve, the system maintenance management has been strengthened; and the perfect grounding system and lightning protection measures to further enhance the MTBF. At present, the communication power supply is move to the high frequency, high power density, high power factor, high efficiency, high reliability, and high intelligent direction.This paper is in view of the above questions, make the mini RRU module power system with high performance of output as the main study object, and design a high power density power supply for the RRU module, based on a deeply analysis of the switching power supply theoretical and technical principle. The main content as below:1. To confirm the requirements index of this power system’s input and output performance, analysis as the overall power demands and the limitation volume of power. Considering the operating environment and the reliability requirement, there should set a circuit to monitor the power system. Then prepare the design specification of the power system for the RRU.2. Solve the power system solutions according to the power supply system design specification. Research impact current suppression circuit, design a new type of switch mode impact current suppression circuit, which can choose small power MOSFET, thereby saving board space.3. Study the particularity of the two line system; design a new type of forward circuit that can use both primary side and secondary side of the transformer to output power. This design can make the transformer degaussing alternately in two switch period. So we simplify the circuit and improves the efficiency.4. Study the I2 C bus, and perfect power system function design, makes the power supply output voltage can be adjusted through the digital signal, antenna power supply channel switching out a digital control and real-time monitoring of the power supply output voltage.5. Research communications power supply related peripheral test project, aimed at the specialties of the RRU module to design test method, prepare the test specification. Analysis the problems arising from the test results, and modify the design to the second validation, finally provide the product that meet the demand of various performance indicators and functional.
