Design And Implementation Of Enrollment Data Acquisition And Analysis System

Entering the 21 stcentury, human beings are now stepping into a technology times—the rapid development of the technology industry at the same time stimulate the innovation in other fields. Information technology has been applied in different aspects of education such as teaching, management and scientific computing. On this basis,college entrance enrollment applying the Internet becomes part of the education management with its rising importance. Using Internet for effective data collection,analysis and statistics has become a significant part of college entrance enrollment.However when processing data we are now facing a problem—colleges enroll students within the whole country; however the data format varies from province to province. As a result, the data cannot be analyzed uniformly; instead, they can only be processed in accordance with provinces and batches.This study is to solve the problems for college enrollment management.Proceeding from the work after the enrollment, complying with daily operations and characteristics of higher education and making fully use of campus network, computer system and network environment, we try to establish a platform for enrollment data collection and analysis combining data processing techniques including ADO, SQL etc.Moreover, we design a complete data collection and analysis system on the basis of ORACLE database to settle the problems of the existing system. The system would be able to achieve the enrollment management including the quick switch and unified format of the enrollment data from different provinces and the editing and printing of the admission notice; also it would help to manage the new student orientation whenever and wherever possible and insure the accuracy of all data. The article demonstrate the system including its overall design, function module design, the database construction, the process of system developing and completing—which is the focus—also the result analysis.Having been applied by the admission office of Qing Yuan Polytechnic, it shows that the system can effectively release the staff from the pressure of college entrance enrollment—it standardizes the enrollment workflow, achieves the real time data collection of enrollment and orientation and successfully avoids the potential errors and omission due to the individual acts of mismanagement.
