The Design And Implementation Of Yibin College Student Management System

With the rapid development of the network science and technology, an increasing number of computer software has come into our everyday life and work. It follows that modernized management of information, with great efficiency and reliability, has been put in use in all walks of life, taking the place of the traditional mode of manual management. Since the end of the 20 th century, the management at colleges and universities has been bearing a huge pressure coming from the quick expansion of higher education, including the year-by-year rise of enrollment and the unceasing growth of faculty. In this case, the application of the Student Management System helps to ensure a good quality of managing work, to normalize the management of information, to promote the construction of digital campus and finally to realize the management modernization.The study of the project aims at designing a student management system that meets the high standard and requirement laid down by the state and helps with the digital management of students’ information, especially solving the problems of the digital management of students’ dormitory, of students’ moral education and of students’ school roll, so as to increase the efficiency of college and university management.This paper focuses on the designation and implementation of a student management system based on the concept of software project management. Under the background of Yibin College, the paper analyses different demands from the undergraduates, the teachers, and the staff of teaching management, dormitory management and administration, in consideration of the requirements of the construction of the “7S” management and the “credit bank” model for college information management; it builds up an overall architecture for Yibin College “7S” management through the designing method of software engineering, and then presents the detailed designation and implementation of the core modules, such as “dormitory management”, “school roll management”, “scholarship management”, “charge management”, “moral(honorary title) management”, etc. and the related database as well.The overall architecture of the system adopts B/S mode, and is a special kind of C/S architecture based on HTTP. It simplifies the client-side, with a low maintenance cost and a wide applicability, satisfying the requirements of our college in resources and manpower. This system is developed through the current J2 EE technology, and the designation of its hierarchical system is realized by MVC design pattern, with the powerful SQL Server 2005 database as the background supporter and effectively improving the system efficiency and the system security. This database has the advantages of easy operation, convenient use and strong function, and so is very suitable for developing the student management system.After detailed and careful later re-test, the system in question has been put in use in Yibin College and realized a paperless office platform of informatization and digitalization.
