The two main objectives of online learning counseling system based on knowledge push are as follows: one is to take the initiative to push the knowledge which is concerned by the students to those in similar situations; and the other is to make use of online testing system to push the interrelated knowledge which is not mastered to the students automatically. In recent years, with the rapid development of distance education, how to make use of the modern network and information technology to improve the effectiveness and pertinence of online learning guidance, so as to help teachers understand the students’ learning situation and provide personalized and high-efficient guidance for teachers is becoming a problem demanding prompt solution to modern distance education, and also the important content concerned and researched by current experts and scholars.Based on organizing, analyzing and studying relevant literature of knowledge push, combined with the newest theories of distance education and teaching practice, the thesis designs and implements the new “learning counseling system”, with the embodiment of “knowledge push” concept. The system applies the teaching ideas and methods creatively which are fitful for adult students and can popularize in full-time students, and integrate knowledge push, selected online data, submitted students materials, online test, knowledge expansion, team learning, personalized guidance to students with management. Based on the accurate analysis of learners’ needs, and fully using advantages of network and data mining technology, it selects proper and moderate amount of knowledge from knowledge bank, pushes customized knowledge punctually and actively to learners, reflecting the individual’s active adaptation and intelligence support, and significantly improving the teacher and the school’s efficiency as well as the students’ learning quality. Besides, the thesis shows the results achieved by learners and knowledge pushers after the implementation of the teaching process based on the online learning counseling system.The research objective and contents of the thesis include:(1) on the theoretical research aspect, the definition of “Thinking, Learning, Doing and Creating”, the concept of knowledge push and its platform, autonomous learning theory and connectivism theory, and the monitoring and analysis system for learners’ learning process.(2) on the educational research methods aspect, the coordination of “inductive education” and “practical education”;(3) on practical research aspect, through the study of this subject, online learning counseling system based on knowledge push is eventually developed, which is composed of 24 modules of 6 subsystems including the learner, the knowledge pusher, the curriculum information resources, the learning test, the resources management, and the system management, and which can help students automatically acquire the knowledge they are interested in, do self-tests relying on the system to find the knowledge that are not mastered, and automatically obtain the learning materials related to the information which are not mastered by students but pushed automatically by the system.
