Web-based Student Learning Platform Development

The inevitable trend of modern education development is to implement the concept of higher education fully, to improve the learning efficiency, to promote the amelioration of student learning and to develop their self-study ability of operation in practice. In network technology and the rapid development of the internet today, and with the deepening of college teaching, the learner-centered Online Learning System provides broad time and space for the self-study development. It has been considered as not only one of the most important ways but also the potential direction of the modern education.Learning Online Management System(LOMS) is a management information system which makes use of the Internet as a platform to transfer the teaching contents, long-distance learning and make intercourse and study online. To construct the platform of LOMS can overcome the limitations of the traditional class, and take the vocational education as the feature to form an active, cooperative, and open teaching mode. The LOMS have not only the advantages of vivid images and vast resources, but also have the qualities in mutual accessing, double communication, and not restrict by time and space.This system links with the practical demand and uses B/S model, and combines with the ASP.net technology and the DBMS of SQL Server. And the structure which includes the study model, homework model, answering online model, practical model, and public model. This system achieves the functions such as long-distanced transmitting the homework, online correcting, online testing, and online answering and discussing etc.. This paper divides the develop process into three parts according to the software engineering ideas and discusses them separately.(1)Need analysis phase analyzes the actual needs of college teaching, and confirm the function of the structure, behavior of the system, the technological development.(2)In the phase of system design, discuss the specific functions of this online learning system, and gives the detailed description of frame of the system, the data-base design, use the UML to establish the model, and narrates in assistant using the data flow chart, E-R chart, and calss diagrams.(3)In the implementation stage, the implementation of the system is supported by system database connection and system function implementation. The implementation interface and program codes of key module are also concluded.
