Laser rangefinder is an advanced ranging technology,which has high accuracy, far measurement range and strong anti-jamming features.In many cases,need to measure the distance of several points,the measurements should be done on the same time especially in dynamic measurement,so a multi-point laser range finder is necessary,however, the multi-channel photoelectronic time interval measurement system is the core of multi-point laser range finder.In this background,to research and design a high accuracy multi-channel photoelectronic time interval measurement system become the main purpose of this thesis.In order to provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent design,this paper do research on the key technologies of laser ranging and time interval measurement first.The TDC-GPX time interval converter is selected to be the base of multi-channel photoelectronic time interval measurement system through research and investigation of the technology of time interval measurement. The hardware of the system consists of multiple modules,such as the photoelectric conversion module which complete the conversion of laser signal to electronic signal,the signal processing module that do signal processing to meet the input requirements of TDC-GPX,and the interval timing module based on TDC-GPX.The hardware system is controlled by PIC MCU,the data of each measurement channel will be transmitted to a transit MCU,then all the data will be transmitted to computer through UART serial.A automated measurement software is designed for the multi-channel photoelectronic time interval measurement system in this paper. The software is developed through virtual instrument technology as virtual instrument technology is more flexible than traditional instrument and more convenient to develope a measurement software than other software development technology.The serial driver is developed through VISA.
