6LoWPAN that IPv6 over Low Power Wireless Personal Area Network, is a low-speed wireless personal area network standard, the goal is to be able to run IPv6 protocol networks on wireless personal area network which is based on IEEE802.15.4 network. So far, IP protocol is still not available in wireless personal area network. the largest capacity of the link layer frame is 127 bytes, so whether it is IP protocol packet header size or packet size for wireless personal area networks are impossible to use, 6LoWPAN technology is proposed to address how to use the IP protocol running in the wireless personal area network, through header compression, fragment reassembly, etc., to solve the problem of IP protocol header is too large and protocol address field too long, making the IP protocol can be applied to wireless personal area networks.The advantages of 6LoWPAN technology and Embedded RTOS combines is that the combines system can achieve an application platform that enables related applications on this platform can be easily implemented. First, independently TCP/IP protocol can running on the Embedded RTOS, This can make wireless personal area networks to connect seamlessly with the Internet. Secondly, Embedded RTOS combined with 6LoWPAN technology can realize the wireless personal area network management and monitoring in the gateway node, gateway nodes usually adopts the power supply, but wireless nodes generally use battery powered, and its memory and CPU speed and other hardware conditions are difficult to determine the wireless nodes to complete this work. Again, the gateway function to obtain greatly improved scalability, can implement complex applications, such as the timely processing of the data, and decision-making functions.In this dissertation, 6LoWPAN protocol and related technologies is stduied, based on a reasonable system solutions proposed, realized the 6LoWPAN adaptation layer protocol stack which supports IPv6 protocol seamless integration and ultimately realize 6LoWPAN network functions on aCoral operating system. The main work done there: the rational design of system solutions, write 6LoWPAN adaptation layer, the preparation of related driver to complete the system implemented on aCoral operating system, perform the relevant tests.After the test, each module can be running stability and correctly, achieving of the overall system have been tested rigorously, too. This design used tools to analysis receiving packet layer by layer to ensure the packet received from IEEE802.15.4 network through 6LoWPAN adaptation layer’s are correctly handled and use reasonable testing program, tested the validity of the application layer communication, completed the goal of this dissertation support the 6LoWPAN network functions in aCoral operating system.
