Image Capturing And Processing System Applied To Panoramic Map

With the development of Information Technology, the application of panoramic map and virtual reality,which based on panoramic image technology,are used widely in people’s daily life. The panoramic map refers to a software virtual reality system that can reveal the panoramic images. Firstly, the discrete images are captured by a multichannel camera, and than the computer programs make the images into panoramic images. Lastly, the panoramic images are showed by the web flash program. The multichannel image capture is the basis of the panoramic map system. The multichannel camera should capture the several channel’s image synchronous in time, and the geographical location data should be got at the same time in order to the panoramic images matched with the geographic information system in the following processing.The topic of this paper comes from an enterprise application project. The application field of this system is the scenic spot, when capturing the panoramic images.This system choose TMS320DM642 of Texas Instruments as CPU and used the TVP5150 as the A/D converter, and the image capture service is four 480 lines CCD color cameras. The video image signal generated by the CCD cameras, then the TVP5150 convert the analog signal into digital signal data, then the data will be made compression and encode according to compression standard, then the data packet will be marked with the geographic information on the image frame. At last, the data will be transmit to the upper computer through the USB port that is extended from the DSP EMIF port. The image data base in the upper computer is the basic material of the panoramic map system. The discrete images capture is the first step of the panoramic map system construction,and the discrete image’s quality have a significant impact on the effect and precision of image mosaic for panoramic image in the following step.
