Subtitles Shown Of Dad, Where Are We Going Typical Case Analysis Of New Post-production Method In Television Program

In this paper, the author analyses the typical case that the new method of subtitles is shown in the post-production of the television program Dad, Where Are We Going. As a matter of fact, that embodying subtitles in the live picture in Dad, Where Are We Going can be said to be the first try in the post-production of China outdoor reality show. This paper mainly discusses the subtitles show in the television program and studies the subtitle show from both subtitle form and content. It is not only because that the subtitle show exhibits more than the subtitle itself, but because of some other facts such as some colored decorative symbols, patterns and figures, which can beautify the picture, activate the characters as well as the atmosphere and so on. For the function of the subtitle, it is not to demonstrate the form, but to show some other things related to the content, for example, some words about the topic of the show, figure action, language, expression and inner heart. Also, subtitles educate the audience, which can draw the audience’s attention to study and thinking. The author has interviewed a lot of audience. According to their feedback, subtitle show is the biggest strength in Dad, Where Are We Going, and it is their idea that this new innovative method should be set as an example for other outdoor reality shows. At the end of this paper, based on the mass culture function theory of Frankfurt School and its connection with Dad, Where Are We Going, the author draws this paper to a conclusion from a positive perspective.
