Based on the Android phone, using the phone camera, this paper has carried on the corresponding research on the tree height and the DBH of the standing tree by the trigonometric function method and image analysis method. This research mainly focuses on the following several aspects:(1) Using the gravity sensor which built into the mobile phone, via a custom function, to obtain the real-time tilt angle of the object.(2) According to the tilt angle of the object obtained by the gravity sensor and using the trigonometric function principle, we developed a real-time measurement system of the target distance and the tree height of the standing tree measurement system.(3) In the tree height of the standing tree measurement study, referring to the equipment preset, by using two times the tangent trigonometric function to calculate the tree height of the standing tree.(4) In the DBH of the standing tree measurement study, we calculated the DBH of the standing tree by means of building the mathematical relationship between the target distance and the reference line scale and combined with the distance which the DBH on the chart.Those researches show that we can get higher precision on the tree height measurement and the DBH measurement of the standing tree by trigonometric function method and image analysis method which based on the Android phone, by using the phone camera. Furthermore, the methods are simple, feasible and effective. We conducted two experiments with 19 samples, the relative errors of the measurement result were within 5% in the tree height of the standing tree measurement study; We chose the 12 standing tree as experimental subjects, the relative errors of the measurement result were within 5% in the DBH of the standing tree measurement study.The innovations of this study are as follows:(1) To real-time acquisition the target distance, we can obtain multiple target distances simply enter an equipment preset, improving the efficiency of the measurement.(2) We can get the tree height value of the standing tree using equipment preset and the tilt angle of the phone, without artificial horizontal distance measurement.(3) We calculate the DBH value of the standing tree through the target distance and the reference line scale.
