Since the late 1990 s, TV dating shows has mounted the platform of Chinese TV media, after a period of silence, Jiangsu satellite TV program "if you are the one", as the gift of The Times, swept the domestic TV media industry in 2010.As a reality dating show, "if you are the one", within the same type of shows, play a reading role in brand marketing, media alliance, link form, subject setting and effect range in the current domestic shows. But under the surface of the great success of the program, is there any negative social problem? Under the discussion of some hot topics, is there any contrast to the mainstream value system? As the embodiment of “famous TV guest”, are they really as bright as being shown on the screen? Under the trend of pan entertainment in the TV show, consumerism is booming. TV shows belonging to the culture products have been affected by the consumption culture, and suddenly turn into a popular culture consumer goods in this field.In this paper, I will start from the perspective of consumerism, take TV show "if you are the one" as example, analyze its performance characteristics and inner structure, study the transformation of its guests from the general public to "TV celebrity", and explore the development mode and transformation approach of the modern variety show in the consuming society.This article is divided into six chapters. In the first chapter, there is an introduction, including research background, research purpose and significance, and the overview of the research status. In the second chapter, I will mainly discuss the value turning of the modern media under the view of consumerism. In the third and fourth chapter, I will illustrate culture with commercialization, and how it is integrated with mass media in the production and consumption period. In the fifth chapter, I will talk about that how consumerism bring topics about production and consumption of TV personality, and under the influence of consuming culture, how the modern TV shows find a way fitting its own development.
