"China dream show" is different previous reality show and adds public elements in TV shows in order to achieve the dream of public appeal. Stories are believed to have the function of shaping characters, improving humanistic connotation and economic benefits of a program. Besides, they are also able to complete the audience’s individual emotional experience and build social culture. Reality shows in recent days have gradually realized the importance of telling stories and have been committed to the exploration of the participants’experiences and stories. They have paid more attention to promote their social influence and values. They use the development and utilization of the emotional story to the extreme, so that the audience delude one to folly in TV program to create the emotional world, which makes the research on stories in TV programs very necessary.This article focuses on the dream-catcher’s characteristics and their stories and discusses the audience’s expectation on stories and characters. The case analysis on the dream-catcher’s story shows that this show tells stories of three types:stories that reflexes the dream-catchers’unyielding will-inspirational stories, stories of human emotions-kinship/friendship/love,stories of humanities concern-the human warmth/care about each other. In addition, this research also further proves that it’s essential for a TV reality show to pay attention to truth of the story, the storytellers’ charm, interactivity, the correct concept of value and appropriate television narrative techniques.
