The Design And Research Of Moving Object Detection Towards Hareware

Moving object detection in image sequences refers to find a wayto detect moving targets quickly and accurately.It is anindispensable branch in the field of computer vision. Moving targetdetection not only provides a strong guarantee for the subsequentmoving target tracking, but also has a great influence on the videosurveillance systems, defense and security fields, industrialproduction projects.With the vigorous development of EDA technology, the use ofhardware description language design FPGA/ASIC has become atrendency for the simple reason that it not only owns a highlyintegrated circuit design, but also makes a good use of the benefitsof a hardware description language: modular and easy to maintain;parallel of speed; small low-power circuit and so on.The work of this paper are:(1) A detailed analysis of several existing common moving objectdetection algorithms is introduced.It has included two framedifference method, Gaussian mixture background model method,three-frame difference method, etc., We also use M language tosimulate them separately in Matlab2010b.In the end,we find out abalanced detection algorithm between the effect and hardwareimplementation complexity called the three marginal differencedalgorithm.(2) In order to make the algorithm suitable for hardware platforms, Verilog HDL hardware description language has been rewritten.In orderto solve the difficulty that large amounts of data may cause errorseasily,a co-simulation in the help of Modelsim+ISE+Matlab isintroduced. The co-simulation method verifies the reliability of thealgorithm after rewriting.(3) The paper also applies the digital back-end technology willto make the algorithm integrate into a small part of a chip.The chipcan be used as a median filter, edge detector, also a digital imageprocessing IP core.(4) A system has been built through a development board:virtex5in Diligent company.The system contains the input of datas untilthe output of data displayed. DDR2SDRAM guarantees the torage ofimage data and data input and output steady.The system can properlywork normally.
