Research On Pricing Strategy For City Distribution Services Based On Logistics Cloud Platform

Currently, some scholars put forward the city joint distribution scheme based on the concept of cloud computing, using logistics cloud platform to integrate distribution resources information and demand information, and match the information through the established rules of cloud platform. Finally, it will meet the needs of both sides by joint distribution. Which can improve the aging and quality of distribution services, reduce the pollution brings by distribution, and solve the problem of traffic congestion. In the logistics cloud platform, the transaction mode is different from the traditional way. When the car owners submit vehicles and quote information, they are unable to know the number of competitors and their quotation. So, a reasonable pricing strategy is critical to win the order and improve the revenue. This paper focused on the pricing problem. Firstly, it analyzed the difference between the logistics cloud platform and the traditional trade mode. Also, the problem of order allocation rules in the cloud platform is studied. To conclude, there are similarities in the bidding process between the distribution services in the logistics cloud platform and product auction. But the difference is that, there may be more than one winner in the bidding process of distribution service, and the pricing strategy rely more on accurate estimate of cost and competitors’price distribution. Then, this article selects the static Bayes equilibrium which was widely used in products auction pricing strategy. Of course, I did some improvement and innovation about the model according to the characteristics in logistics cloud platform. When there are competitor offer lower quote than the current owner, the current owners still have a chance to get the amount of residual distribution, and obtain certain benefits. Finally, the result of the pricing model shows that the pricing strategy depends on such factors:the unit cost of a service, estimate of the competitors’price distribution, estimate of the available amount of distribution. In this paper, we used MATLAB software to verify the validity of the model, and provided guidance of quoting for car owners.
