With the rapid development of economy and city, more and more people crowded into cities. This phenomenon led to the enormous demand of city for fresh frozen products. The cold chain sales terminal, such as stores, supermarkets in response to the timing demand of people, these terminal used to stockpile more goods than the actual sales volume that lead to some return. The cold-chain distribution business have to consider the cost of refrigeration, damage of cargo and the road condition, at the same time, they will faces some customer returns. Therefore, it is very necessary for us to build the minimum cost vehicle routing problem with simultaneous delivery and pickup model for cold-chain logistics. This paper, based on the vehicle routing problem with simultaneous delivery and pickup, fully analyzed the cold chain products’ features in the process of the distribution, builds the related cost function, including the cooling costs in the process of transport, loading and unloading; the cost of cold chain products from spoiling and damage; the cost of vehicles and increasing transportation cost with the mileage. Then, from the perspective of cold-chain logistics and distribution companies, it minimizes the sum of the cost of the above-mentioned objective cost function constructor. The article started to design genetic algorithm, combined with specific cold-chain distribution business case analysis, verify the feasibility of the proposed model in this paper. Result of this research provides guidance to the distributer such as the fleet size and distribution routes for carriers on making the optimal shipping decisions, the research conclusion is close to the real condition, showing that this appraising theory has practical value.
