Video On Demand Service System

With the development of times,people put higher demands on video service.They want to change the passive watching into active selecting the content and timetable and controlling the display process.Thus a new style of video service,called Video-on-Demand(VOD),arises according to these demands. VOD system adopts the B/S(Brower/Server) model,deposits in the Video Server the multimedia resources including video,audio,animation,etc. Users can interactively search and demand the information about video programs in the Video Server through the network. VOD can be applied not only in the wide bandwidth of telecommunication, but also in the CATV and computer network.This paper is to design a VOD Online System. This system has corresponding functions such as client terminal download, user register online, VOD online, user management and sorting and soon.The system is consist of four parts—the user management sub-system, the video service processing sub-system, the program management sub-system and the client terminal sub-system.This paper lays stress on the design of the user management sub-system and the program management sub-system. C# programming language and ADO.NET database connection method are combined to develop the manage sub-system. The safety of the system is very important, so this paper gives some a dvice about the safety of the database.At last,the manage system deployment is described briefly. How to test the manage system is designed in this part.
