The application of natural language text understanding to the design of intelligent instruments is one of the difficulties of artificial intelligence.The paper is about the ambiguity processing model based on purpose information in field of understanding of natural language and its application to the intelligent instruments. From the perspective of purpose information clustering in natural language, put forward a disambiguation strategy according to the restriction of purpose information in text,and build the model which is applied to the field of intelligent instrument design.Finally achieve the intelligent design of instruments by analysing and understanding user requirements in natural language.First, the general situation of natural language understanding is introduced, and know how the computer deal with natural language.Analyze several common methods of semantic analysis in the natural language understanding,and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these methods.What’s more,the paper states the definition and prescription of events in the natural language understanding system.By considering these, chose the method of the knowledge representation whice combines the conceptual dependency trees with the rules,to describe the processing of events in the natural language understanding system.Secondly,by analysing the extensive language phenomenon, ambiguity phenomenon related to the purpose information is divided into five categories in the paper.And the classification of the purpose information,the connection mode of the purpose information and the processing method of various kinds of connection mode are introduced in detail. A constraint method to dispose of ambiguities based on the text purpose information is proposed. Depending on the search direction of the purpose information in the text, disambiguation method can be divided into two kinds, the one disposes of ambiguities according to the restriction of trigger events, the other is according to the restriction of objective events.And the ambiguity processing model is set up.Then, when understanding the framework of the natural language understanding system, complete the processing of ambiguity according to the ambiguity processing model.Finally, the ambiguity processing model based on purpose information is applied to the analysis of the demand of the intelligent instrument design.
