The application of natural language text understanding to the design of intelligent instrument is one of the difficulties of artificial intelligence.The paper is about the ambiguity processing model in field of understanding of natural language and its application to the intelligent instruments.From the perspective of polysemy ambiguity language phenomen innatural language, put forward a disambiguation strategy according to the subject concept and the structure of the event in text, and build the model which is applied to the field of intelligent instrument design. Finally achieve the intelligent design of instrument by analysing and understanding user requirements in natural language.First, the general situation of natural language understanding is introduced, and we discuss how the computer deals with natural language. Then the research status at home and abroad on polysemy ambiguity and the basic concept related to the polysemy is introduced. Then we analyze several common methods of semantic analysis in natural language understanding, and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of these methods. What’s more, the paper states the definition and prescription of events in natural language understanding system. Based on these considerations, we choose the method of the knowledge representation, which combines the conceptual dependency trees with the rules, to describe the processing of events in the natural language understanding system. Secondly, through the analysis of a large number of polysemy ambiguity language phenomenon, the polysemy ambiguity language phenomena is classified. Then we describe the method of polysemy disambiguation based on the subject concept and the structure of the event, eliminating the polysemy ambiguity by the abstract relationship between subject concepts and the structure of the event in the semantic analysis. By the abstract relationship between subject concepts and the logic structure relationship between events in the chapter analysis we eliminate the polysemy ambiguity. Next we create a polysemy disambiguation model,and implement the model in natural language understanding system. Next Based on the above analysis, we establish the method of polysemy disambiguation based on the subject concept and the event, and design the specific implementation process combining with specific production in the field of expert system, by which the model of polysemy disambiguation is achieved. Finally, we build potential fact library by the specific example in intelligent instrument demand for design, eventually in order to set up analysis object on a intelligent instrument design. In the end, the paper applies the polysemy disambiguation model of natural language understanding to intelligent instrument design, which verifies the operability of the polysemy disambiguation model.
