In the information age of economic globalization, the enterprises use cost, quality, service, speed and other factors for market competition. As the hub of production management and manufacture, job shop gathers material flow, information flow and control flow.Job shop management is the important and complicated part of enterprise management. The quality of job shop management has direct influence on the development of the enterprise.In addition, Manufacturing Execution System(MES) is a shop-level system in the field of manufacture informatization,plays the role of connecting link between the preceding and the following in the manufacturing system. Therefore, to develop a set of job shop management system which is based on MES has a role in promoting enterprise competitiveness.This paper has studied the way of discrete manufacturing enterprise’s production。Based on the actual production, it has analyzed the problems of job-shop management, put forward an idea to establish a job-shop management system of MES, and discussed the advantages of MES; In the analyses of job-shop process, this paper used unified modeling language(UML) to make visual descriptions and established the business models of scheduling management, equipment management, tool management, process management and report management. It has defined the specific function of each model. This paper uses Java EE to develop application interface and database access. Microsoft SQL Server 2000 manages the database. Apache Tomcat 6.0 acts as the Web Server. It completes the system development with object-oriented programming language and MVC design pattern.The research of this paper makes up for the shortages of production adjustment and resources configuration, assists company managers to overcome disjunction problem between plan and work site and realize the informatization and intellectualization of production process. In addition, the research has a realistic significance of enterprise scientific operation, dynamic scheduling and the reasonable planning.
