In discrete manufacturing enterprises, how to optimize the production schedule is a very important problem, it can shorten the production cycle and improve the enterprise's ability to provide the product to customers on time. Therefore there are three fields that will be studied in this thesis; they are production control model, job-shop scheduling problem and developing the shop floor control software. In the production control model fields, this thesis studied the famous model PAC, and discussed a new and hierarchical production control model, which includes three basic modules: the scheduler, the dispatcher and the monitor. In order to solve the problem that many plants collaborate to make products, the model provides a factory coordinator. The model also emphasizes that the integration with the production planning and process planning and data collection is very important. Obviously this model is helpful to develop the shop floor control software. In the job-shop scheduling problem fields, this thesis defined a practical mathematic model, which approximates the real-life shop floor. And according to this model, this thesis presented a heuristic algorithm framework to solve the job-shop scheduling problem. In addition, by studying to use many dispatching rules to solve the problem, this thesis introduced a hybrid genetic algorithm, which can optimize the schedule. And the test results show that it's a good idea. But what dispatching rules should be used in this algorithm should be studied in the future. Finally this thesis introduced the shop floor control software based on the production control model mentioned above. At the same time, this thesis discussed the development technology and the application in a real-life enterprise.
