SMT is a kind of equipment, which can put the surface mounting components on a printed circuit board. with the advent of the printed circuit board, it becomes an inevitable development to make electronic technology towards a new era and promote the development of the field of electronic assembly. due to the mass production of electronic products, which accelerate the advancement of the SMT machine technology. as one the most important parts, automatic pickup is a kind of high level integration electronic device, it is directly related to the speed and the precision of the placement machine performance. automatic pickup as placement machine is one of the most important parts, most of the placement machine system integration capabilities, is a highly integrated electronic devices, it is directly related to the speed and the precision of the placement machine performance. automatic pickup is the primary factor in the placement machine configuration. the early automatic pickup for machinery for the manual control system, the mount of slower, which is quickly eliminated by the market, and instead by the current automatic visual automatic pickup, it realized the intellectualized automatic pickup system. but as the table element of small, highly integrated electronic products, for automatic pickup technology level and higher requirements, therefore, the improvement of automatic pickup technology is the core of electronic assembly progress.This author of this thesis starts with the design of hardware circuit and software of automatic pick up to elaborate the automatic pickup of the realization of the hardware and software in detail. for the hardware circuit part of the system is based on TI company’s 28 xx series DSP as the core of digital signal processing circuit, the visual system is realized by using CMOS chip (MT9V034) as image sensor, in order to reduce impulse noise and salt and pepper noise and balancing the clarity of the image, the system USES the median filter and edge detection algorithm for image denoising processing, automatic pickup of motor drive circuit includes a Drv8312 chip of linear motor drive circuit and stepper motor drive circuit adopts Drv8824 chips, respectively, has realized automatic pickup axis direction and axial direction, the pneumatic system of automatic pickup, this article USES the PIC microcontroller as the main control chip of pneumatic system, effectively share the load of DSP, the movement speed of automatic pickup system significantly improved. In order to realize the upper machine and automatic pickup friendly interaction, the software part of the system, based on the virtual instrument Lab VIEW to compile PC control interface, improve the system’s real-time control, adopting CAN communication and USB communication in the system at the same time realize the upper machine and lower machine, and the next bit machine information and communication of each node.Finally, the author of thesis through doing the experiments on the compiler LabVIEW virtual oscilloscope for automatic pickup movement control simulation and image acquisition of the LabVIEW PC interface, and obtaining the ideal effect of waveforms and image. It proves this topic automatically pick up instruments have the characteristics of high precision and high speed.
