In this paper, taking a campus network as the research object, network’s reliability is studied respectively in detail from physical and performance two aspects. In the first, the models and algorithms for the Ethernet are proposed separately by using qualitative and quantitative methods, the failure modes are enumerated about switch, router and other network components, the FMECA tables are also listed distinctly. Based on components’ data or related parameters, their steady availabilities are computed, and then the lower bound about the reliability is obtained.Secondly, in order to evaluate the performance reliability of the entire campus network, the lower bound is estimated at the confidence level of 95% using the censored time experiment. Finally, based on the above results, the causes that the physical level is higher but the performance level is worse is analyzed, simultaneously, some reasonable suggestions are put forward. |
