In the information age, information literacy is one of the basic qualities of college students. As a part of the quality-oriented education, information literacy education is also the primary task for the colleges and universities to carry out higher education. This paper uses a variety of software and methods to carry on technique statistics analysis for 30 years research papers of information literacy education in China, and it also makes preliminary discussion about the teaching quality evaluation in this field.Information literacy education is an evolved concept, the original form of information literacy education was mainly referred to literature retrieval courses, and its later forms gradually combined with the product of the western concept of information literacy education. Therefore, the paper starts from explaining the basic connotation and the dialectical relationship of literature retrieval course and information literacy education, hoping to show the whole picture of current situation of development in colleges and universities information literacy education.First of all, this paper retrieves the articles about literature retrieval course. Then it establishes the keyword matrix by Bicomb and does cluster analysis based on SPSS. It finds out that literature retrieval course research in China focus on five research themes. This paper discusses the themes one by one to objectively explore the current status and progress of literature retrieval course research in Chinese information literacy education.After that, based on the articles about information literacy education in the database, this paper uses Bicomb to analyze the temporal distribution, subject distribution, periodical distribution, institution distribution and author distribution of the information literacy instruction research in China. Besides, it also uses Cite Spaceā…¢ to find out the research hotspots and frontiers visually to comprehensively explore the current status and progress of information literacy education research in China.In the end, based on the tentative exploration of information literacy education teaching quality evaluation system, combined with analysis method of benchmarking in the competitive intelligence research, this paper makes a comprehensive and objective comparison of the domestic and international information literacy educations from the angle of teaching quality evaluation. According to the problems and deficiencies found in the benchmarking analysis, it finally makes suggestions on the countermeasures for the development of information literacy education in colleges and universities of China in the future.
