The Data Integration、analysis And Utilization For Hosiptal Information Based On The Data Warehouse

Along with the social competition and the spread of information technology, the daily affairs of the hospital management can not be separated from the application of database technology. Currently, most of hospitals in our country have established basic database information systems to assist the management of the hospital affairs, and have accumulated vast amounts of historical data. But on the one hand, these database systems are relatively independent from each other, leading to the poor information sharing, data duplication and data inconsistencies; On the other hand, they can only deal with the daily work, without strong statistical analysis capabilities and the capabilities to extract potential knowledge from the mass data, so they can not help decision-making for managers in hospital, and also can not strengthen the hospital management level. Thus, the hospital’s reliance on database technology is rising from the day-to-day data management to decision support. Therefore, using data warehouse technology to help hospitals managing data scientifically、making comprehensive use of dispersed data in different hospital databases、analyzing and using large amounts of data that has accumulated in the hospital and which one is increasing everyday, is becoming the developping way for the current hospital’s information construction.This thesis is based on the background of a hospital’s current data using situation and its 2011 data which is a tertiary level hospital in Fuzhou. The purpose of this thesis is to build the hospital’s data warehouse in order to integrate dispersed and heterogeneous data in hospital meeting the needs of the theme, and then to display and to analyze data in a variety of forms, and also can drill data by needs, ultimately by using the analysis results can help hospital’s management and decision support. In this paper, the main work includes:(1)Studying the data warehouse technology; (2) Making research of hospital needs analysis and building a hospital data warehouse model; (3) Taking two analysis of this hospital for example to design and implementation the process of data integration, one example is the outpatient prescription analysis, the other example is the single disease analysis.; (4) Designing and implementating the process of data anlysis and use. In this study I used the tool of ODI+OBIEE software suit which is popular at present for data integration and representation. This paper focused on the data integration. This paper discussed the data integration method, using the E-L-T way to integrate data, which one can reduce costs and network traffic and can improve the processing performance. Data integration process includes:(1 Establishing related fact tables and dimension tables; (2)Designing suitable logic model; (3)Developping plans to extract and load data; (4)Designing cleaning tables and functions to clean and converse data. The advantages of this subject is the lower costs, the flexibility to construct and expand, the easy way for user to operate, the various forms to analyze and the strong ability to interact.Building the hospital data warehouse, can help hospitals to comprehensively manage and make use of the large amount of dispersed, non-uniform data; and to be able to analyze the data to find problems and internal laws. Using the data warehouse can help the hospital managers deal with problems in time and provide the basis for decision making, help hospitals to be betterly managed and improve competitiveness in the social fierce competition.
