The assembly companies face with the problem of high cost interiorly and overseas for a long time, especially the small and medium-sized enterprises.Because of lacking the effective methods to reduce labour and cost, the enterprises consume too much.In order to eliminate the useless motion and simplify the complex motion of an operator, reduce the bottleneck time or pitch time of a whole production line, improve the efficiency of assembling, and do not cause high cost of automation. Above all, this paper puts forward a new idea which is designed to control the lowcost assembly line. Combine the motion of operators and the meta-mechanism in the assembly line; analyze the assembling motion, the process of meta-mechanism combination as well as the dimensions and moving characteristics of objects; use the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique(MOST) to describe the workers’ basic motion and commen meta-mechanism, match the basic motion and meta-mechanism in assembly line by seeking the motion relationship between the both, and then build the meta-mechanism matching system by using X5 platform; This realizes the matching process of MOST motion with meta-mechanism combination, finally reaches the purpose of the motion replacement by mechanism. At first, this paper will complete the construction of the assembly motion repository, sort the applications of meta-mechanism in assembly line and simple automation equipments, and form the meta-mechanism repository in assembly line. Then motion analysis will be carried out, which will offer guidance for forming the expression in MOST. And then it will realize the system matching of assembly motion with meta-mechanism, which will provide the reference to the manual assembly line and the low cost automation production.
