With the development of the social informationization degree increasing, the traditional access control methods are replaced by modern access control system, the current access control systems market is rapidly to the biometric authentication mode and the direction of network development. When the access control system will be the network access control and biometric authentication, it has the characteristics of more safety, more convenient, more efficient, and it is more in line with the requirements of modern life.Embedded Access Control System based on CPU processor as the core controller, also it includes information collection equipments and electromagnetic lock. It controls the opening and closing door by the processed information. Fingerprint identification method is one of biological identifications. It is widely and conveniently used by manufacturers. The Embedded Access Control System based on fingerprint identification is of high practical value and practical meaning.In this subject, Access Control System based on ARM and Linux platform, its principle is the fingerprint authentication. Here we designe the overall program of access control system, acquire fingerprint image by fingerprint chip and deal with the image. This article discusses three aspects in the design of access control system:hardware system、software system、 algorithm. Focus on the design process of hardware system is to set up the hardware platform, the platform uses Samsung Corp production of ARM9 processor based on S3C2440 CPU. Designing the hardware circuit diagram of each function module, and using FPS200 capture fingerprint image, then testing the operation state of each function module. In terms of software design, constructing the software development environment, designing the driver and application program of FPS200. Then go to test the status of FPS200 in the software platform. In studying on the process of the algorithm, the pretreatment process of the fingerprint images is the key research object, including the process of segmentation, enhancement, the value of the two, thinning. To obtain the fingerprint image skeleton diagram, searching feature points (endpoint, bifurcation point).then to machine with the template image by Jie Xianhe model.Write processing algorithm of fingerprint image on the Visual C++6.0 platform. Running on the Visual C++6.0 platform image processing algorithms, then we can see the fingerprint image is changing. Matching one image with multiple images, the matching rate of fingerprint image reached 96.03%. The success of the fingerprint image matching shows the design is feasible.
