Research On Monitoring Technology Of Network Topology Based On OPNET

Topology monitoring is the core of network situation awareness system and network management system, topology monitoring technology aim to observe and analysis the change trend of network topology by collecting the specified network topology information, it is important to maintain stable operation of network security. When we study the tactical communication network, it is impossible to establish a real network for research,because the properties of equipment and its nodes in the network is special, such as some planes, tanks and other network nodes, so the computer simulation becomes the main method of tactical communication network. In the tactical communication network simulation, In order to ensure the researchers understanding the operation and the topology change of the simulation network in time, it is necessary to carry out the simulation console system with topology monitoring function, because in the simulation network the network operational node is various, the complexity of the network structure, network topology changes frequently.This topic conducts research to the network topology monitoring technology, based on the study of OPNET tactical communication network simulation model. In this paper we used the OPNET network simulation model to build emulation network, the network model includes real network and simulation network. OPNET network simulation model has integrated HLA module, It can help the simulation network can easily interact with the outside world, so we use the support framework RTI of high-level architecture to build a distributed interactive simulation system. We can construct a simulation federation using RTI, the real network and Simulation of network can join the federation as two federal. RTI distribution Interactive interface for them, it is the management of the federal operation. We design an OPNET network simulation console in the system, the communication module between the console and the simulation network is realized based on HLA. Simulation console system can operate and manage on the simulation models, it can make the network simulation system to become visible and controllable.This paper studies the realization of the network topology information collection from OPNET simulation network, and designed a simulation console to display the network topology in time.
