As battlefields gradually shift from "platform-centric" to "network-centric", digital communication and network have become the main trends of modern battlefield equipment. The Battlefield Command and Control Network, based on Field Integrated Communication System, has played a more and more important role in wars, taking battlefield command, control, communications and intelligence integration as its objectives.Area Communication Network is a very important part of Field Integrated Communication System. The network has strong mobility and survivability, and its performance directly affects the performance of the entire Field Integrated Communication System. Therefore, studying the structure and characteristics of Area Communication Network and analyzing the performance of Area Communication Network under different jamming are of great significance to the design and apply of Area Communication Network, as well as the development of resistance technology.This paper mainly focuses on how to use simulation tests to assess the performance of Area Communication Network from the following aspects:It first introduces the equipment, network structure, performance of Area Communication Network in detail, analyzes the technical weaknesses of Area Communication Network and studies three main types of human jamming.The paper then studies the way to conduct Area Communication Network with simulation tests, elaborates the basic principle, hierarchical division and basic process of network simulation tests. Based on this, the paper puts forward quality of service evaluation and network evaluation in this network.With the help of network simulation software OPNET, this paper designs and completes the node model, process model and network model of Area Communication Network. After that, it presents the methods of node deployment and service configuration and simulation statistics collection in the simulation test. In addition, it establishes a minimal model of the network and studies how to verify the simulation with actual test data. Based on a potential applying model of Area Communication Network, this paper carries out a simulation test, testing the performance of Area Communication Network when the trunk nodes links are interfered and the impacts of trunk node interference on the performance of Area Communication Network. At last it concludes the simulation by analyzing the simulation results and provides some suggestions on the applying of Area Communication Network accordingly.
