With the rapid development of science and technology,especially the rapid development of communication technolo gy, The requirements of people on the speed of data transmission become higher and higher between different devices. Some traditional bus can not meet the requirements of the people.So,The IEEE1394 bus technology comes into being in this case. Due to the high transmission speed and superior transmission stability, The IEEE 1394 bus is getting more and more extensive application in the field of data communication.whether the digital camera or the printer, The IEEE1394 bus interface is added to many digital devices.It Provides a fast passage for data transmission with other equipments. In1995, The IEEE1394 bus protocol was recognized as the 1394 th IEEE standard by IEEE organization, After several times modification, The contents are constantly improved.At present, the latest version is IEEE1394-2008.This article designs the digital circuit module for Beta port Mode of IEEE1394 bus physical layer. This module consists of the physical layer‘s IP core with other modules.The IP core can be used as the soft core of the physical layer chip which is embedded in other devices to realize the function of the physical layer.This article describes the technical background of the IEEE1394 bus technology, introduces the IEEE bus protocol and shows the function of the physical layer. On the basis of above, We describe the port of physical layer detailly, This article is based on the understanding of the IEEE1394 bus protocol.We divide the port into several functional modules and use the verilog language to describe the digital circuit of each module. Finally, According to t he funct io n o f eac h mod ule, we wr ite the testcases correspond ing the circuit module, then we set up a virtual verification platform under the Linux operating system and simulate the fanuction of the port module with Ncverilog simulation tool.This article designs the digital circuit of port module of IEEE1394 bus physical layer and verifies the function of this module.Combining with other module s, This module constitutes the physical layer`s IP core.
