With the development of urban modernization, the infrastructure of urban grid has been built underground progressively. The number of power pipeline underground has kept growth year by year, and the structure is more complex. Therefore, the traditional management method cannot meet the latest demand with the development of pipeline which leads to the problem have become increasingly serious. With the development of Internet, using WebGIS technology to help solve power pipeline management has been the research focus in the application field of power industry. For the problems above, this thesis design and develop a WebGIS system using the open source GIS software GeoServer, PostGIS, OpenLayers of power pipeline for urban. This system can promote management efficiency of pipeline, and satisfy the needs of decision-making, management and construction department.This principal works of this thesis contains the following aspects:Firstly, the thesis summarized the present situation of the management for power pipeline for urban. In allusion to the system of power pipeline domestic and overseas, the thesis would analyze the advantages and disadvantages. Beyond that, the thesis would describe the main technology used in the system, for instance, functions and characteristics of open source GIS software GeoServer, PostGIS, OpenLayers, J2EE framework, Ajax, Map tiles cache.Secondly, the thesis would discuss the system requirements from the feasibility, performance, functions, market prospect and so on. According to the requirements, the system design and implement the basic GIS functions, facility management, pipeline operations and other functions in the system. And each function modules would be introduced in detail below.Thirdly, according to the analysis of the system requirements, the thesis designed the system architecture using three layers B/S structure including data layer, application logic service layer and presentation layer. Among these, the system use GeoServer and SSH framework to build GIS services and business logic services, parts of the application logic service layer.Fourthly, based on the model for power pipeline equipment, the dissertation build the attribute and spatial database structure for the system using the object-oriented design method. Furthermore, this system use PostgreSQL and PostGIS spatial data engine to implement integration management for the attribute and spatial data.Finally, the thesis implemented each function module of the system. On the WebGIS platform, the system can manage, query, and locate facilities, manage power pipelines visually by circuit track diagram, single line diagram, equipment wiring diagram and well profile. Moreover, the system implemented auxiliary functions such as user management and data import.At present, the WebGIS system for power pipeline of urban has been delivered in some places of Zhejiang, and has achieved expected expectations.
