| Liang Shiqiu, who is one of the famous essayists, literary critics and translators in the modern literary, has created more than twenty million words of writings during his life in Chinese literary. Liang is also the first authority on Shakespeare, attracts tremendous attention due to his literary achievements. However, few people pay attention to his editing practice which spent almost his life.Liang Shiqiu experienced a lot because of complex time-background. Throughout his life, Liang has not only covered a wide range of academic research, but also spend lots of time on editing books. He engaged in a number of editorial activities, and pregnant with rich editorial ideas. Thus, this thesis focuses on literature, communication and editing, researches on Liang Shiqiu’s editing practices.In the nearly six decades, Shiqiu Liang worked for The River, Current News · Glaucoma, Central Daily · Flat Out and Free Comment as an editor. During the editing, he keeps pace with the time, advocates fresh air and the continuous improvement of vernacular newspaper supplements. He has also edit school textbooks and the English-Chinese Dictionary, in which contained his own thoughts on education. He has worked a lot during editing the Complete Zhimo Xu and The Shakespeare.Based on Liang Shiqiu’s editing activities, this thesis sorts it out as three differentiated social roles, that is, a social activist, an educator and a writer. It studies on the different features in process of editing practice as a newspaper editor, a book editor and a textbook compilation. This thesis summed that Liang Shiqiu takes patriotism as the edit starting point and takes the practicality as the fundamental principles. It reflects Liang’s deep knowledge of the editorial literacy, advocating liberal attitude and pursuing excellence.This thesis synthesizes the integrated academic’s studies, focalizing books and periodicals that edited by Liang Shiqiu so that can sort Liang’ s editorial activities. It Multi-angle analysis Liang’s editorial activities, and summarizes Liang’s editor thought, which could provide reference for the current part of the publishing industry. |
