Research On Simulator With Radar

The radar signal simulator mainly uses Simulation Technology to simulate the electromagnetic environment of a variety of radar signals. It is able to assess the specifications of the radar reconnaissance equipment accurately, reduce the development & test costs, and improve the army’s capability to maintain and secure the radar reconnaissance equipment in the process of developing, testing and using the equipment.Based on the technical requirements of certain radar signal simulator, this paper focuses on studying and analyzing its design concept, system structure and engineering implementation, testing its system performance, and in the infield test, mainly verifying the equipment performance indexes by the radar signal simulator designed by us.This paper mainly covers:A. Introducing the general design concept, basic components, working principles and structural components of the radar signal simulator;B. Highlighting the design scheme of the core control circuit boards, which is the job the author pays the most attention to. In the meanwhile, it discusses in details about the functions, connections, hardware and programming methodology with the operating principle of the control circuit boards.C. Discussing the reliability, maintainability, electromagnetic compatibility, testability, safety, design concept and implementation methods;D. Listing the data of the technical index test for the equipment and analyzing the testing result.The innovation of the control circuit boards developed by the author includes adopting the technologies of high speed DSP processing and FPGA controlling so that the simulator can produce at most 16 radar signals with complex modulation simultaneously. The test result shows that the radar signal simulator in this paper is able to meet the technical index requirements, simulate several radar signals with complex modulation, set the radar parameters conveniently, operate flexibly with low costs and high portability, etc.
