As a typical model for calligraphy of mass culture,the essence of television entertainment program is pleasure of the game, all the individuals and groups will chase and enjoy the pleasure extremely,no matte it is the producer, the participants or the audience. This is a furtive weapon of TV entertainment programs how to make the folk indulge itself through the ages.First and foremost, entertainment program presented in game form, here refers to the broad sense game form, in accordance with the rules in particular space-time. The audience is not directly involved in the process, but is looking into and is still awash in instinct sensory stimulation and physical pleasure, which brings them the satisfaction of gaze. As a significant carrier of Mass Culture, entertainment program characterizes by game and Carnival characteristics, conveys synthesis of diversed means of entertainment for getting furthert pleasant sensation from experience. Moreover, postmodernism deems that pleasant sensation is a commodity, especially the TV’s publicity and packaging increased, the audience partiality will prone symbolic and virtual satisfaction in the process of consumption: individual will enjoy the pleasant sensation form,which distinguished from the commodity property that actually consumed, but the illusion instead. Last but not least, in the modern disciplinary society, surveillance penetrates into all areas of life, on the other hand, the individuals’ disobedience against power also from multi-dimension like political and economic:resistance against the social monitoring,against the hierarchical system, against the economic system and so on, no matter what it is, the folk will undoubtedly realilze huge pleasant sensation. Simultaneously, Michel de Certeau holds the view that, the folk construe the communication subject’s intention ues an approach like guerrilla, the original intention is misconceived and misapprehended as a result.In this way, will the folk avoid the discipline but couldn’t escape the presence, for obtainning the pleasant sensation of escape.In this thesis, TOP GEAR(British vertion),a comprehensive prevalent entertainment program, take the most successful program as an example, to explore the formation mechanism of the three aspects,the pleasure of game, the pleasure of consumption and the pleasure of resistance, for exploring the profound reason why folk is fascinated by the entertainment program. This thesis attempts to concrete and reason the generation and trigger mechanism of pleasant sensation with specific example, explores the profound aesthetic connotation of mass culture.
