Resistance And Performance:the Study On The Communication Of "Tucao Culture"

"Network Tucao" is an important cultural phenomenon in recent years.People catch "groove point" fault, vent discontent and express their views about a variety of hot events, living conditions and other cultural phenomena, in the weibo, weixin, forums and other social media. The language is humorous,the expression is subtle mildly, it is known as the new network expression of the era.In mainland China,"Tucao culture" is extremely popular. This phenomenon is based on the development of network technology, which makes people get a expression platform; and with the poor traditional airing, public control serious, people tend to tactfully express their opinions. Today China is in the transition period, which is full of contradictions, problems. People need to release the pressure, vent frustrations, and network Tucao is a good choice.I tried to reveal the popular mechanisms and social significance of "Tucao cultrre".I selected the representative text as samples from 2011 to 2014, used the text analysis, content analysis, and combined with the youth subculture theory of Birmingham School, Abercrombie and Longhurst’s exhibition/performance theory to study it.First, I traced the historical context of "Tucao", which comes from Japan ACG culture, incomes the mainland from Taiwan with the changes of shape and meaning."Tucao" meet the mainland China’s unique social context and becomes popular, and then it has been generalized use, eventually forms a unique network Tucao subculture.Tucao often appears in network video, and arises after all kinds of social events. The users resist hegemony through tucao, and make the individual performances.Secondly, I reveal Tucao "style" by text material analyze, which comes from the dominant culture and popular culture. This style uses the post-modern discourse strategy, which is easy to understand, and uses the colloquial expression, irony and rhetorical hyperbole, and plays the classic text, collages images and text, fabricates yellow piece.This article focuses on "resistance and performance" of Tucao, it is revealed the process into two parts. In one side,I used the subculture resistance theory of Birmingham School to explain the background of tucao resistance, and the relations of the dominant culture and sub-culture. The resist process is established through collage, homogeneous and ideographic practice. Then they want to find social recognition and the establishment of sub-cultural groups, and address the plight of the existing class, resist class hegemony and cultural hegemony. In the victory of civilians, Tucao subculture faces the threat of ideology and business incorporation.In the "performance" aspect Tucao, I use Abercrombie and Longhurst’s exhibition/ performance theory to expound the change in exhibition society. The media technology provides us the perform stage, people find themselves by performing in the media image. The performing process is an exhibition/narcissistic cycle, which focuses on "self" and "others", and imagine yourself performing in front of others, trys to attract attention, but people will never satisfied and you must continue to perform.Finally, I summaried the values and reflection "Tucao culture". Tucao represents the rise of civil discourse rights.Tucao establishes subcultures, which avoids the atomization of people, tucao realized individuality and self-presentation, and tucao rich social and cultural forms. However, Tucao also faced excessive entertainment tendency, the expression destructs the cultural integrity, and produces another violent language.
