Research On Interaction Design Of Mobile Electronic Product Interface For Modern Elders

With the growing aging society, the development of aging industry will possess significant social meaning. The rapid development of mobile electronic products and internet changed people’s life style. As a kind of service carrier, the mobile electronic product brought much convenience to people’s life. However, as far as the input of mobile electronic product towards elderly market is concerned, the market share is relatively low. Taking smart phone for the elderly as example, it did not proceed with targeted interactive design of mobile phone interface as per the elders’ characteristics and using demands. The increasingly complex interactive interface as well as the operational process that is not consistent with elder users in mobile electronic products added learning cost to the elderly users, and made the elderly fear. We should pay attention to the elder users who had been ignored, and let them to enjoy the "beauty of science and technology".Aiming at the above-mentioned, based on the design theory:User-Centered Design, this paper took the smart phone interface for the elderly for instance. Through user interview, questionnaire, character role and other methods, it strived for establishing interactive interface mode towards the elders’ smart phone. By conducting survey and summary after selecting the elderly in modern city, analyzing the relevant cases, this paper finally proposed some design principles about interactive design towards the elders’ smart phone. Meanwhile, it carried out detailed analysis towards the call function, which was the most common one used by the elderly, as well as guided design practice as per the concluded design principle.The main results of this paper are as follows:1. Summary the basic theory of mobile electronics interface design and analysis the characteristics of the elderly population; 2. By comparing the three older smartphone cases, and conduct research and analysis of older age groups, to extract the design requirements; 3. A comprehensive analysis of the elderly population, build a smart phone interface interaction design research system, interactive interface design method is proposed for the elderly smartphones.
