The activity of cross-cultural communication has existed since long time ago. as a new media,the micro-blog has been playing an important role in cross-cultural communication resently. since the opening day to August 2013,the official micro-blog of USA consulate general in Hongkong,keeping large amounts and focus,have created more of 2000 pieces of content,and have attracted more than 300000 fans.therefore it’s a typical case of cross-cultural communication through new media.In the view of cross-cultural communication,the paper uses content analysis method and have an analysis on the official Sina micro-blog of USA consulate general in Hongkong,the 978 piece of content of offical Sina micro-blog of U.S. consulate general in Hongkong are samples,since the opening day of July 23,2011 to July 23,2013. On the one hand, it’s a comb and extension for the previous research,on the other hand, Analysis of the practice USA consulate official micro-blog in intercultural communication activities, to investigate the effect of micro-blog spread effect of the appeal and the audience reaction, effect, treat this cultural phenomenon critically.Research is divided into four parts:the first part is the introduction, from the macroscopic angle in this paper, the research purpose of this article, the realistic meaning and analysis method. The second part is a comb of the key concept,such as the microblog, the United States consulate general Hong Kong official weibo and cross-cultural communication involved in this paper,at the same time the theoretical tool of cross-cultural communication theory is also described.The third part is the key patr of article, the article made a comprehensive analysis to the official weibo of U.S. consulate in Hong Kong,such as the basic situation of weibo, subject distribution, mode of transmission, culture labels, study of weibo for cross-cultural communication. Based on the audience response to the Hong Kong embassy official weibo,the fourth part studied the Hong Kong consulate weibo communication effect.Under the background of fast change of new media,how does the United States consulate in Hong Kong use weibo to intercultural communication? This paper aims to analyze the induction America consulate official micro-blog mode of operation, to summarize the method and experience of cross culture communication, and dialectically affect their intercultural communication in the process of Western capitalist ideology. Finally, this paper give inspiration together into we bring in the aspect of cross-cultural communication American consulate official micro-blog.
