Cross-cultural Communication Of Soft Power

In this paper , the cross-cultural communication of soft power is on the basis of the following two points. First of all, cross-cultural communication is the historical and cultural phenomena with human growth, the internal driving force of cultural development, and an indispensable part of national soft power communication. In the context of economic globalization, cross-cultural communication becomes more active and frequent. Secondly, we have gradually come to realize that the cultural exchanges have far-reaching impact on the elevation of national soft power, initiate the dialogue between nations, strengthen mutual understanding,trust and friendship between nations, and principal means of demonstrating Chinese"soft power". Cultural exchanges are not only conducive to strengthening international friendly relations and establishment of a country's international prestige, but also to making our country invincible in the economic globalization.This paper aims at an analysis on the cross-cultural communication of soft power and promotion of the country's soft power from the perspective of cultural exchanges . The whole paper begins with the analysis of national soft power with Sino-US cultural exchanges as its case. After the analysis of Sino-US cultural exchanges, this paper utilizes the relevant theories of cross-cultural communication and the methods of comparative studies, case studies, and literature studies to analyze Sino-US cultural exchanges. Finally, the paper sums up the impingement of American culture upon Chinese culture and some favorable factors of Sino-US cultural exchanges with the purpose of elevating Chinese soft power from the perspective of Chinese cultural construction.The introduction clarifies the significance of this research, reviews some of the major articles on soft power, introduces reviews for soft power and the relevant theories of cross-cultural communication, and interprets the research methods and the theoretical basis of the whole paper.The second chapter makes an analysis of the status quo of Chinese soft power from the cultural perspective, showing that the cultural soft power is an important part of national soft power and the important role it plays in elevating national soft power.The third chapter analyzes the great significance of Dewey's thought on education to Chinese educational circle and American cultural expansion after the brief introduction of Sino-US cultural exchanges and interprets cross-cultural communication of soft power from the perspective of cultural exchanges.Finally, after the study of the cross-cultural communication of soft power, the author studies the impingement of American culture upon Chinese local culture and favorable factors in the process of Sino-US cultural exchanges so as to make the author's meager contribution to the promotion for Chinese soft power.
