Fingerprint identification is one of the most important and the most widely used biometric technologies.The recognition algorithm generally consists of two stages.They are image preprocessing and feature matching.The image preprocessing stage is one of the important impact on the efficiency of identifying because feature extraction and matching is completely pretreatment results in the basis. So pretreatment effect will have a direct impact on the reliability of fingerprint profiling and identification has great influence on the results.This thesis introduces briefly the characteristics of AFIT(Automatic Fingerprint Identification Technology), the principles and practical significance of fingerprint image preprocessing and the entire workflow of the fingerprint identification system, then introduced some processing technology and its application in fingerprint image preprocessing method, image segmentation, image enhancement, including four types of fingerprint image binarization and refinement.The thesis in order to solve the current problems existing in the fingerprint image preprocessing, this thesis makes an in-depth study of the fingerprint image preprocessing algorithms. The main objective is to explore new ways to enhance the efficiency and the effect of fingerprint image pretreatment. Firstly, the article makes an in-depth research on the normalization and gray balance and various segmentation methods of the fingerprint image. In the fingerprint image orientation filter enhancement algorithm, we adopt an improved Gabor filter algorithm which combines the orientation and frequency information of the fingerprint, get a better effect. In analyzing the existing binarization method based on an improved binarization method, the result shows that this method combines the direction information and frequency information can effectively achieve relatively poor image quality fingerprint binary image. Finally, in the binary image thinning, we put forward a new improved OPTA thinning algorithm, effectively inhibited the production of burrs, thinning effect has been greatly improved.Based on the above research results, we completed an identity authentication system based on fingerprint identification.AS a way of user login, the fingerprint overcomes the defects of traditional users login using the personal password. First, we analyzed the functional and non-functional requirements of the system and descript the functional modules of the system. Then, based on analysis and comparison, we selected the J2EE lightweight framework to design the identity authentication system. Finally, the identity authentication system has been applied and tested and tested in a small scale. Limited by the condition, system tested in a large-scale failed to verify.
