In the middle of last century, with the rapid development of the global economy,the emergence of a large number of new infrastructure projects, and the constructionof these infrastructures greatly stimulated the rapid development of automobile andheavy industries. With this rapid development, automobile and heavy industriesformed their own standard gradually and proven business solutions, at the same time,the traditional manual management couldn’t cope with the rapid growth in businessvolume, this made how to deal with auto retail service more efficiently become ahot topic. In this context, a type of IT management system: Dealer ManagementSystem (DMS) which could assist dealer to manage daily their business wasdeveloped. As one of the trucks、construction equipment and other heavy industriesleaders around the world, this group always attaches great importance to the enterpriseinformation construction building, and as early as2005, has archived IT-basedgroup management and SOA-based IT system. The system discussed in this paper:Lean Dealer System (LDS) is global dealer business management solution, which isdeveloped based on service-oriented principle. The main purpose of LDS is assistdealer to handle their regular working more flexibly and efficiently. Currently, LDShas been spread to more than30countries and areas globally, and is plan to spread thewhole world in future. The investigation of this paper is based on LDS and itsservice-oriented style architecture, mainly focus on its architecture and technologiesin high-level, and also pick a representative scenario to analysis and illustrate thebusiness modeling process. At last, we will take LDS as a good practice to illustratethe SOA application in general auto industry.
