In the recent years, with the rapid development of geological tourism in China , the number of geopark become more and more. And the management and protection of geoheritages is one of the most important problems. In order to solve this problem, one of the best efficiency way is to establish geopark’s database system. This paper is based on full investigation and collection of Bayan Nur geopark’s information which was classified. Combine the trait of Bayan Nur geopark, choose Client/Serve(rC/S) structure, SQL Server 2000 for background database, SuperMap Deskpro and SuperMap Objects 2008 as a platform, Visual C# for forms and programs, has built Bayan Nur geopark’s database system.Spatial data, attribute data and multimedia data are all managed in this database system. From the system interface, users can browse, add, modify, delete and search data. In order to ensure data’s security, have designed two functions which were backup data and recovery data. Bayan Nur geopark manage department is satisfied with this database system.During the process of this database’s realization, have made a try to solve some key problems which include design the structure of query system, attribute data code, different users have different permissions and so on. In addition, have solved some difficult problems such as lossless conversion between different data formats, export different types of data etc.. The results of this research can provide some references for other special database’s construction. In the last section of this paper, the primary achievements and conclusions are summarized, and advices for deficiencies in this system are submitted.
