Enterprises create value through fixed assets. Fixed assets are the basis ofenterprise operation. Fixed assets are not managed efficiently because of their featureof high value, long turnaround time, dispersed locations which can cause repeatpurchase, capital loss and so on. Fixed assets need an IMS (information managementsystem) to be managed efficiently. In this dissertation, we developed a fixed assets management sub system basedon OA (Office Automation) platform to fulfill the actual demands of enterprise fixedassets management. The system is developed based on J2EE using Eclipse IDE. Ituses Oracle database as the data persistence tool, and builds its framework with SSH(Struts1+Spring+Hibernate) technology. According to the functional structure, thesystem is divided into eight modules: basic data management, the application ofmaterial requirement, the application of fixed assets, fixed assets storage, allocation, maintenance, measure and pending, data interaction interfaces to SAP-systemincluded.The system has been running online steadily. It makes sure that fixed assets aremanaged efficiently through all five phases (purchase, allocation, measure, maintenance and cancellation.) of their lifecycle. The dissertation demonstrates thedevelopment of the fixed assets management sub system from four aspects: therequirements analysis, preliminary design, detailed system design, systemimplementation and system testing. Finally, the dissertation ends with conclusion ofthe results of system implementation and insufficient.
